Sue O’Halloran gave a wonderful storytelling performance at our church last fall. People didn’t know exactly what to expect especially since the subject matter was race.  But Sue’s performance put people at ease.  She was really able to connect with the audience by getting everyone involved and making it a fun and educational experience.  As the event organizer, I really appreciated Sue’s professionalism and preparation.  It was truly a pleasure working with her.

I spent many evenings during my years in New York at Carnegie Hall, Lincoln Center and at Broadway theaters, but I can hardly think of an evening that was more moving or more exciting than your performance last Saturday.

Sue has performed often with our workshop on racism and ethnic sensitivity. Those who have heard her really appreciate her stories. When we had a unity rally in May, Sue was our featured storyteller.  All eyes were on her as through her story she taught those there the importance of building bridges.  Thank you, Sue, in the role you play in helping people of many cultures appreciate one another.

Sue O’Halloran is a gifted storyteller.  In her one-woman show, Dividing Lines: The Education of a Chicago White Girl in 10 Rounds, she has taken the sensitive and emotionally charged issue of racism and woven a story of family, life and the struggle for racial harmony that touches the hearts and souls of all people.  Susan challenges us to find the answer that is so desperately needed to break down, once and for all, the wall of racial hatred and fear that keeps us from living together as members of the human race. Her leadership, dedication and resolve have made a significant contribution to the work of this local church in addressing racism and in our efforts to eradicate it.
