Anne,

Thanks for coming out to the Celtic Fest! And thanks for your comments about my Grandmother O'Halloran story. I'm always a little embarrassed when someone shows up for a performance and they've already heard what I'm going to tell, but I need to remember how much I love hearing my favorite stories and songs over and over again.

Tim,

Thanks for your comment. Yes! There are so many stories we never hear!

I didn't include the storytellers telling because taking only a few seconds from their stories didn't make a lot of sense when edited together. You'll just have to imagine how wonderful everyone was - and they were! :-)

Aw, Sue, you showed us the storytellers but not the storytelling :-(

What a great confluence of cultures celebrating-- and quite appropriate for those of us of both Mexican and Irish ancestry (it's a small intersection, I'll admit). I never knew about the San Patricios... a fascinating bit of history!

Sue, I absolutely love your grandmother's story that you told at the Celtic Fest yesterday. It is so moving! I could listen to it a hundred times and would love it more each and every time. Thank you!

Thanks, Susan,

I use the St. Patrick's Brigade to illustrate some points in both my Missouri Geography and my World Political Geography courses. David Rovics has a great song on the brigade. I had him come to my class a few years ago (when he was in town) to perform it and several other social justice pieces. Thanks again, nicely done. Larry
